How Private Classes Work
Getting started with your private Mah Jongg class is simple. Just follow these steps:
Gather a Group
Gather your friends, family, or neighbors. We recommend a minimum of 4 players (1 full table) and can accommodate multiple tables for larger groups!
Coordinate Your Date
Email us at majmobmn@gmail.com to check availability and book your preferred date, time, and location before paying.
Register & Pay
Once your class date is confirmed by us, have each player register and pay using the Square checkout links below.

Once your date is confirmed, select your class level below to register and pay. Private classes are priced at $50 per person.
Private Maj 101
Brand new to the game? Start here!
In Private Maj 101, we teach you the game in a friendly, low-stress environment. You'll learn the suits, basic rules, and the general layout of the card. By the end of this class, you'll be playing a modified, comfortable version of Mah Jongg.
We bring the tiles, NMJL cards, mats, and all learning materials right to your table. No prior experience is needed!
Private Maj 102
Ready to learn full gameplay?
Private Maj 102 builds directly on the basics. We reinforce what was covered in 101, and then introduce the deal, the Charleston, and teach you how to start choosing hands on the National Mah Jongg League card.
By the end of this session, you and your group will have the confidence and skills to play a full, standard game of Mahj together.
Private Class Guidelines
To make your private class experience as smooth as possible, here is what we ask of our hosts:
- Group Size: A minimum of 4 players (1 table) is required. If you have fewer players, please reach out to see if we can accommodate, or check out our public schedules under Mob Around Town.
- The Space: You will need to provide a quiet space and a standard card table (or square dining table) and 4 chairs per table. Standard card tables work perfectly!
- Service Area: We travel to homes, clubhouses, and venues throughout the Twin Cities Metro area. If you live outside the metro, please contact us first.
- Scheduling: You must email us at majmobmn@gmail.com to check availability and book your preferred date and time before registering and paying!
